In the U-20 boys divisions, Oakland SmOAK defeated Boston BUDU 15-11 to claim the Division I title for the second year running, while Illinois Illusion claimed their first ever YCC win in Division II over Michigan Stubble. The U-20 girls division also had a back-to-back winner, with 2025 champions Seattle Seven Hills taking down Minneapolis Superior to claim their 15th YCC championship title. A historically strong program, Seattle Seven Hills also took first in the U-20 mixed division where they claimed the mixed team鈥檚 fourth title, winning out over Lexington KOI.

The U-17 divisions brought some exciting upsets, with tenth seed Oregon Eclipse winning out over top seed Oakland OAK Sparks in Division I. Newcomer SoCal Air Show, established in 2025, won it all in the Division II final, defeating San Francisco Aftershock with a dominant 15-5 final score. The U-17 girls division went closer to seed but still brought a surprising final with the Seattle Orcas only giving up one point to top seed Minnesota Superior in a final that finished 15-1.

The men鈥檚 division final started the day off with intensity. The game was a tight matchup. With changing leads, and Seattle Sockeye taking the game to 14-12, Revolver pulled off an exciting come-from-behind victory to claim their fifth U.S. Open win.

In the mixed division Hybrid took the lead 2-0 and never looked back, winning over challenger New York XIST in dominant fashion. The U.S. Open win, their third in three years, keeps them in the running to be the first team to win back-to-back Triple Crowns.

Washington Scandal claimed a 15-10 victory over San Francisco Fury, only giving up one break over the entire game. The finals win over Fury completes their perfect 6-0 record for the tournament, with key wins over all the other top seeds including Boston Brute Squad and Molly Brown.

Youth 春色影视福利 Championships

Play continues for the final day of YCC which brings the conclusion of bracket play and championship matchups across all seven age divisions. throughout the final day of competition with all U-20 finals available to watch live. Schedules, stat leaders, and full event information can be found on the YCC event website.

In the men鈥檚 division, defending champions San Francisco Revolver will face off against Seattle Sockeye in an attempt to claim their fifth U.S. Open title. Back-to-back wins would be no new feat for Revolver, having won three consecutive years from 2013-15. Sockeye is back in the final for the first time since 2021, when they won their third U.S. Open title, having won previously in both 2017 and 2019.

The mixed division features Ann Arbor Hybrid, who are looking to claim their third title in three years, having already pulled off back-to-back wins in 2024-25. Should they triumph over New York XIST, their hopes of being the first team to win the Triple Crown Tour two years in a row stays alive. XIST is unlikely to make this easy for them. They are undefeated heading into their first ever U.S. Open finals appearance and in a position to claim their first title.

Also going for a threepeat is San Francisco Fury in the women鈥檚 division. Having previously won the U.S. Open in 2013, 2015 and 2024-25 they are chasing their fifth title as they face off against Washington Scandal in the final. Scandal will be hoping for a repeat of 2023 when they triumphed over Fury 15-13 to claim their first and only U.S. Open win.

The Youth 春色影视福利 Championships brought energy and excitement to the fields as they competed alongside the ICC teams on Saturday. All divisions saw upsets as the next generation of competitive ultimate players left it all on the field. At the close of the first day of competition, few top seeds remain undefeated. In the men鈥檚 division Boston DiG (3) and New York PoNY (4) won their pools, but took losses in the crossover round. Washington Truck Stop (8) went undefeated for the day, winning their pool over top seed Portland Rhino Slam! And Chicago Machine (7) also went 3-0 for the day, including a win over San Francisco Revolver (2).

The mixed division saw many tight games with New York XIST (1) and Ann Arbor Hybrid (5) being the only teams who made it to the end of the day undefeated. Boston Slow (2) won their pool 2-0 but fell to Hybrid in the crossover as both teams prepared to enter quarterfinals Saturday morning.

The women鈥檚 division saw many of the early round games won by large margins, with the top four seeds easily winning their pools. Washington Scandal (3) then won over Boston Brute Squad (1) in the crossovers, while San Francisco Fury (2) gave Molly Brown (4) their first loss of the tournament in the final round of the day.

The youth side of the event kicks off Saturday as 103 teams compete across seven divisions. This year will be the largest YCC event to date, with 2,158 athletes converging in Aurora from youth programs across the nation. For the first time, both the U-20 boys and U-17 boys competitions have D-I and D-II divisions.

The National Youth Ultimate Giving Week is a collaborative campaign uniting local disc organizations across the country around a shared belief: that youth ultimate uniquely supports character development, social-emotional learning and a profound sense of belonging. This week creates a collective opportunity to invite the ultimate community to invest in the future of the sport.

On November 7, 1970, the first interscholastic high school ultimate game was held, marking the start of competitive youth ultimate. The first week of November has been chosen for the first Giving Week, in recognition of this milestone. Throughout this week, all donations made directly to participating 春色影视福利 affiliate organizations in support of local youth programming will be matched. While only affiliates will be eligible for the donation matching, all nonprofit organizations focused on growing youth ultimate are encouraged to use this week to inspire and amplify the importance of giving to support youth program growth. 

With nearly 20 春色影视福利 affiliate organizations already planning to participate, this campaign will empower local communities across the country to invest in the next generation of ultimate players.

By providing assistance through YCC player fee waivers, 春色影视福利 supports local affiliate organizations in reinvesting their resources into local growth and grassroots youth programming. “Having financial support through the Play It Forward program has allowed us to alleviate some of our overall youth program costs,” said Liz Anderson, Director of Operations for Cincinnati Ultimate. “This year, that assistance will allow us to use what we’re saving to purchase additional discs for our younger youth program participants.” 

Malachi Raymond, Youth Operations Manager at Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance, also shared 鈥漇upport through the YCC fee waiver enables us not only to expand our YCC program, but also to reinvest in growing the sport locally. By reducing the financial burden of national competition, we’re able to reallocate resources to initiatives like our partnership with the City of Boston, where we provide free ultimate clinics that reach young athletes in predominantly underrepresented communities, creating truly new pathways into the sport.鈥�

As youth programs across the country began to return post-pandemic, it became clear that a high number of high school girls programs were simply not returning, although the reasons for this disparity remained unclear. In an effort to provide local disc organizations with actionable answers, the new 春色影视福利 Youth Department commissioned Athletic Leadership at Clemson University to conduct research into retention factors for women and girls within the sport of ultimate.

鈥淲hen I stepped into the role of Director of Youth Programs in the fall of 2023 I was consistently hearing from local disc organizations that despite progress in rebuilding most programs post-pandemic, many high school girls鈥� programs seemed gone for good,鈥� shared Dan Raabe, 春色影视福利 Director of Youth Programs. 鈥淚 reached out to the team at Clemson to help us understand what was going on, and how we might better support recruitment and retention for women and girls within the sport.鈥�

The study examined women’s and girls鈥� participation in ultimate through a comprehensive approach that included national participation data from 2014鈥�24, interviews with former players, focus groups with current collegiate, club, and semi-pro players, survey responses from nearly 1,800 participants and a social media analysis of online content.

First presented at the 2026 Organizer’s Convention, the study鈥檚 conclusions help to provide the sport a roadmap for post-pandemic recovery and future growth. In a clear positive take away, researchers found that women and girls are not leaving ultimate because they lack interest, motivation or enjoyment. Instead, they are leaving when participation environments fail to produce belonging, safety and sustainable pathways for success 鈥� all aspects of the sport that can be improved through intentional intervention and support. An overview of some of the significant themes and takeaways from the whitepaper is below.

Belonging and Inclusion

Survey results clearly show that women experience ultimate as inclusive in principle, but exclusionary in practice, with over half of the women surveyed reporting they feel overlooked or excluded within the sport. This is particularly applicable to mixed play, which supported retention only when women were intentionally valued. Interviews conducted revealed common sources of this disconnect within mixed play include limited touches, reduced leadership access, feeling physically mismatched and feeling undervalued. Positive mixed experiences centered women as decision makers as well as playmakers.

In addition to the challenges experienced in mixed play, pandemic shut downs intensified existing gender and youth pipeline challenges in ultimate, highlighting the need for flexible, inclusive and developmentally supportive entry pathways for girls. (This mirrors broader post-pandemic sport participation patterns.) The study found that middle school and high school are critical entry points for girls’ introduction to the sport and that girls鈥� underrepresentation reflects developmental and structural barriers, not disinterest.

Visibility and a Path to Success

The study also found that retention occurred when participation environments offered a competitive challenge with flexibility, and a visible future within the sport. The findings show that women do not disengage because they lack interest 鈥� they disengage when participation feels unsustainable. Access to women centered spaces and clear pathways for progress within the sport are necessary for retention. Lack of clear re-entry pathways following injury or life transitions was also an issue, with both visibility and access being key elements affecting whether women and girls return after disengagement.

Moving Forward

Based on their findings, the study鈥檚 authors provided the following recommendations for engaging and retaining women and girls within the sport:

• Design playing opportunities that provide for belonging, not just participation聽
• Create women centered entry and re-entry points at every level聽
• Stop treating mixed as the default solution for girls鈥� and women鈥檚 involvement
• Build flexibility into competition structures聽
• Invest in safety and injury prevention 鈥� especially for girls聽

The study鈥檚 authors note, 鈥�Addressing these challenges represents an opportunity 鈥� not a critique 鈥� to align ultimate鈥檚 stated values with participation structures that foster belonging, safety, flexibility and longevity across the life course. By intentionally redesigning how and when women and girls are welcomed, supported and celebrated, ultimate can strengthen its youth pipeline and build a more sustainable and inclusive future for the sport.鈥�

Ongoing efforts include the refresh and relaunch of the program this year, the introduction of a pilot grant program to stimulate women鈥檚 club division growth, providing additional support to players as they reach transitions between phases of play (e.g. high school to college) and dedicating additional resources to increase the visibility of girls and women within the sport 鈥� with additional new initiatives coming in 2027.

The study鈥檚 conclusion wraps with the following observation, 鈥淲omen and girls are not leaving ultimate because they lack interest or commitment. They leave when belonging erodes, mixed play becomes exclusionary, re-entry feels risky and participation structures no longer align with their lives. Retention is not about motivating women to stay; it is about intentionally designing ultimate so women and girls can.鈥�

The new Partner designation encourages teams and organizations to actively champion accessibility by advocating for their players, including those with financial need. By identifying participants who require assistance and coordinating directly with 春色影视福利, Partners ensure that no athlete is left on the sidelines, while respecting the privacy of individuals and families.

Play it Forward is a key initiative through which 春色影视福利 provides financial aid and membership assistance to youth who face economic barriers. Play it Forward gives youth an opportunity to play in events, become a member, and be a part of the ultimate community regardless of socioeconomic status. To be eligible for the program, players must have financial need, not yet have graduated from high school and be planning to participate in a 春色影视福利 sanctioned or championship event.
